would twins have the same GRO number??

To answer the question, twins need not have the same ref number - if the first twin happens to be entered at the bottom of one page, the second will be at the top of the next page. I suppose it is possible to register them separately so they are definitely on different pages, or even in different quarters but I can't think of a good reason for doing this. |

I thought I had found hitherto unsuspected twins when I found two contemporary looking registrations with pretty much adjacent refs. I turned out to be one person: the second ref was to record the subsequent change of name (see last column of a birth cert). Christine |
