Hi everyone, don't know if anyone will get this, as when I post on the site I don't seem to get replies! : ( But, I'll try anyway. I've recently installed Kerio Personal Firewall, and now it won't let me access http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl I've 'allowed access' to the sites the error message suggests, but as I'm not very technically minded I don't know if I've done it correctly. The site error message only gives bypass advice for Norton. Has anyone out there got Kerio who could advise me please? Many thanks Ri

Hi Ri Sorry cant help directly, but has Kerio got a website that may have a help section on it that may tell you how to sort out the firewall prob? Karen

I have never had a problem with this. Try right-clicking on the symbol and then looking in 'system security' to see whether it is listed as 'deny' in any of the columns. Are you sure it is a Kerio problem, and not just because your computer security itself is not set too high? Stan

Hi everyone, thanks for your replies. I emailed all the info to FreeBMD, and they just replied saying they weren't familiar with kerio and to look for the 'referer ID', which I can't find anywhere. I went into the 'site exceptions' in my firewall and 'added' the websites for FreeBMD, but that hasn't worked either. I've looked to see whether or not the site is 'denied' anywhere, and can't see that either. I've now mailed Kerio for help, to see if they can talk me through it. : ( Fed up because I've found info on that site before and need to look again. I haven't had any problems with any other site I've tried to access (so far). If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll just have to plod on being technologically incompetent! LOL! I've only just sussed out that you have to click on something on these pages to read the replies. I've been thinking no-one has ever replied to a single thing I've written! kind regards everyone. Ri

Have you tried turning off Kerio (turn on XP FW if you have it) to see if the firewall is the problem? Bob

Hi again. Thanks guys. I've had a reply from Kerio, and this is what I had to do - in case anyone else out there has KerioPF. Go to 'Web', then 'Privacy', then untick the 'Referer' box. I've re-visited the FreeBMD site and it now works. My only concern now, is whether or not it is 'safe' to have this box unticked. Perhaps I should just untick it when I want to vistit FreeBMD!? I've mailed the poor guy at Kerio again to ask! LOL! And thanks for the link to UKBMD too - I've bookmarked that one now. kindest regards Ri

BTW, is there a way to reply to messages on the boards, and have all the other messages on view at the same time? I find I can't remember who or what I want to reply to, and have to keep going back and forth. Ri
