A few weeks ago over on the General board, we were discussing laminating old newspapers etc, and somebody directed us to an excellent website. I can't remember the web address but it was something to do with Nichols Imaging, so you could try using Google. Definitely DO NOT laminate anything lol!! Mandy :)

I agree with the above, DONT laminate them but store them in archive quality sleeves or boxes. I have scanned all mine so that I have a non precious copy which can be handled if necessary as well as the original - although I suppose even the light involved in scanning is damaging to a certain extent. noooooo!!!! Don't 'do' anything to it, you need to find special archive quality clear storage pockets for them - S&N have a good range, including certificate binders and acid free insert pages. With Xmas coming up, its a good idea to get their catalogue sent to you. In the meantime, store stuff between clean sheets of blank paper in a cool dark place. Not in plastic as it may stick. Never use sticky tape either cos it goes funny very quickly. Maz. XX

Any brilliant ideas out there?? I have quite a few original birth certificates and old letters of family interest, which of course are now beginging to crumble with age . Any surgestions of storage. I have wondered about getting them laminated which would mean I could veiw both sides without causing more damage. But I don't want to go ahead then regret it in a couple of years time. Any help or thoughts out there?? Thanks Helen B
