Having struggled as some of you know for nearly a year on going back through time with my main line, I decided to come forward to the ‘near present’ I decided to try track my grandad down. I never knew he existed until 1 day in 1967 I was told he had died.. Imagine the shock. Anyway, a few weeks ago, I wrote lots of letters to people in the road where I found he had lived asking if they knew of him. Lo and behold someone did and even better the sister of the woman he ran off with (only found that out recently) was still living aged 94. Keeping the story short I now have a photo of him when he was about 60 and I exchanged lots of notes and gossip The other plus is on my Stork side I have found a 2nd cousin twice removed??? Who has quite a few photos and he has sent them to me. The great thing is I now have 2 pictures of my ggrandmother. If you would like to see some of them then go to my website ans click on the Stork and Ferguson links bottom left. http://worldzone.net/family/reddesktop/index1.shtml I am just writing this to say keep going and yes it is worth writing those letters. I have never had any negative replies, some not returned but no negatives.

Hi John It's a lovely photo of Leonard. I remember trying to find Robert and Mary Ann for you and I hope you'll find out what happened to them. Heather
