Second Marriage

I think that my Great grandmother was a widow when she married my great grandfather as on my grandfather birth certificate it has Laura Williams late Williams formally Price. Can any one tell me to find their marriage certificate should I be looking under Williams or Price for her. Any tips would be welcome. Marilyn |

I would interpret that as her maiden name was Price and she was previously married to Mr Williams. nell |

If it's your great grandmothers first marriage you are looking for you should look under Price in the indexes as this would be her maiden name. If it's your great grandmothers second marriage you are looking for (to your great-grandfather) you should look in the indexes under Williams (her first married name). Kath |

Many thank to Helen and Dawn I thought it might be the case that 1 was first marriage and 2 was second but was not sure which name to look up will try Price. Regards Marilyn |
