About two years ago I bought the Lancashire 1891 census returns, I did not realise you had to trawl through every page if you did not have an address. I have seen people ask for information based just on the name, how do I get these CD's? elaine:))

Most family history societies produce census which are indexed and you will find Lancs has a family history society. Google search Family History societies for more details. If you are heavily into Lancs consider joining their society. For £10 per year you will get much more info on the Lancs area +4 magazines each year.. Janet

Hi Elaine The 1891 census and some areas of 1871 are on Ancestry which is indexed so if you are having problems finding your family on your discs perhaps some one could find them on Ancestry for you and then you'd know which area to search. Heather
