Here's the Gendocs Victorian Streets site for F: http://www*.gendocs*.demon*.co*.uk/lonstr_f*.html remove * first. There's nothing very likely - Frances Street? nell

Just looked on my London Street atlas. St Luke's is near the Royal Brompton Hospital. Flood st is marginally nearer than First Street. Of course your F***t street could have been demolished. nell

First Street is still there, but at the Brompton end of Chelsea. There's also a Flood Street. Not sure which area St Luke's covered, but I am sure someone on this site will have that info. nell

Thank you. The Registration District is St Luke Chelsea, Sub-district of Chelsea in the County of Middlesex. It looks like F....st Street! Many thanks

Depends whether the street still exists or not, and where it is. I know there's an old London streets site on GenDocs. Of course if the cert is 1860, the chances are the street will still be around on the 1861 census. If you ask the GRO/register office, they may be able to help if you can't read the info on the cert. But before you do that, put the info on this board - I bet someone can let you know. nell

Hi can anyone help am new to this. On my great-grandfathers birth certificate (1860) the name of the street they lived in is unreadable. I have the registration district and the subdistrict and wondered if anyone could tell me a site where i can find street names to help me narrow it down a bit! Many thanks!
