I have been researching my family tree and managed to get back to 1824. I was to go back further but now unsure what records to access. Census records would be best for me but will this now involve going to the family records office in London? My family did not live in my home town so i cannot go to my local history centre. Thanks for any help

Which area would you be searching in the census? Maybe some of the kind people on Genes have discs and could lookup your family if you posted a request.

Parish records may be the easiest records to look at pre-1837 (Start of civil registration) and pre-1841 (1st useful census).

You dont need to go to London, you can access records at the Familysearch centre nearest you, check out familysearch web site to find out where it is.
