Jan You could try contacting the Norfolk Family History Society. They will have lists of families being researched, and if all else fails, you could leave the details with them. nell

I have just looked at the online list and saw that there is a One Name Study for HERBERT. Maybe they would know who would be interested in that information.

Pam, Don't give up, track it down! Last year we located a family bible which my mum remembered from her grandparents. It had passed from their daughter, to her daughter in law then to her sister in law so the surnames of folk were many and nobody wanted it so was pleased I was interested.- . It meant alot for me to be able to show my elderly mum that it was back within the family, in safe hands.

Hi Jan Just a thought.... Have you done a name search for any of those names on this site. You may get someone on here who's researching them. Maybe e-mail them. Sorry if you've already done this Best wishes Jackie x

Have just contacted people with an Alice born worcester in their tree - couldn't see other Worcester connections for other names - thanks for the idea! David Herbert - One Name Study - is on the case, trying to idetify who it be. BMSGH (family history society for Birmingham and surrounding area, including Worcs.) are going to put it in their journal. Anyone interested in family bibles: take a look at the boards on Rootschat dot com for unwanted family bibles. Thanks all for your ideas. You never know what you might find in charity shops!! Jan

Family Bibles come in a variety of sizes but will usually have a page at least devoted to family births and deaths. This may be pre-printed for the family to fill in. In this case it was the blank pages at the front that had the details written in. Not really expecting to find anything I just picked it up and flicked the first few pages and there were the Herbert family details! Jan
