I have mentioned this time and time again even to Genes Reunited and it is so frustrating that they haven't improved their viewing trees section. When you are granted access to peoples trees. Why is it you never get a list of all the surnames in their tree, so you can see if their are any direct matches. Some people have thousands of names in there tree and it takes far too long to go through them all, so many infact that you may often be missing a match to yours. This is highly frustrating. I think it is about time with all the member GR have now, that they improved this. What do you think?

Siobhan, When you click on View Trees at the left you then have the choice (after selecting the individual whose Tree you wish to view) to either view their Tree, or a list of people on that Tree. It is a cumbersome way of doing it, and I too hope that GR may find a better way to display Trees. Jim

I think the way to do it (apparently!) is to click on an individual in your list when you request access - in that way you should go to the same person in the other tree. But as you say, sometimes people have literally thousands of names to trawl through.

Yep I was referring to people with thousands of names in their tree. If you are trying to see if they have more than one matching surname to yours, rather than every single name under that surname. If you then want to see what names are under the surname then you click on the surname you want. it is highly impossible and takes far too much time on genes reunited layout. .The way it is layed out on tribal pages is far more user friendly. It seems that genes reunited is beginning to be a place for you to pay money, put your names up, but never really look at improving their functions. Yes you can now download your gedcom. But i would of expected this from the start. Sorry to moan, but this is something that has bothered me for a long time.
