As you are enrolling more and more members I respectfully suggest that you seriously look at your server capacity. It is obviously not up to taking the traffic at peak times, which can be infuriating to members. Today I have been 2 hours trying on and off to obtain access. It is not the first time either. Pat

What a good idea! I hope they can & do take some notice as it is exasperating to watch the time-passing icon while you wait for the next page to appear. I guess it's difficult to gauge quite how much capacity is essential, but since the site is (manifestly) growing, it would be wise to be reviewing capacity routinely. Hopefully that's part of their business plan and it will be implemented. Christine

And please please please GR save everyone's time by making the Genealogy Resources section more prominent - its not easy for first timers (and even regular users) to find it as you have to scroll down. I think it should be fairly "in your face" on the home page. An awful lot of queries on the Tips and Record Office boards could be answered if people read this bit first. thanx. nell

I have been on this about 18mths now, and it has always been like this, one minute it is fast then it slows down. Theneverybody starts complaining and it speeds up for a while. I think they are always going to have this problem they just seem to sort it out for a while and then it goes wrong again. I cant see it ever changing.

Yes they have certainly become a victim of their own sucess but although they have changed the appearance of the site and the name they MUST sort out their server capacity. On my home page it says what would you like to do today and sometimes I wish I could type in ANYTHING please. So GR before you make any more changes in appearance get your technical bits sorted out as a priority. Pat

It always slows down when there's been publicity about the site. Your Family Tree this month has a 4 page spread on GR so I'm not surprised loads of new people are trying it out.

Hi, you can send the site administrators an email on this. I have already sent feedback saying how sometimes it takes ages to just turn a page. I guess if enough of us complain, something will be done.
