Hi Sophie, I wanted an inquest report but the office in question said they had been destroyed, so I went for the local paper of the time 1895 and the inquest was very well reported gave me all the information I wanted to know and more. Just a thought hope you have some luck Margaret

Ask the local record office who should hold them if they have survived. Details of inquests were often published in the local papers too.

I think they were published in local newspaper reports so check your local records office or main library for advice.... Kim

Hi It's the kind of thing that could turn up on Documents Online. Have you tried there yet? Otherwise, I hope someone else will come up with a more formal approach - address etc. good luck Christine

Does anyone know how/if you can obtain copies of inquests reports? I have the date/details but don't know who to write to. I assume that they are restricted for a certain number of years like the census details, but the one I want was done in 1892 so I should be OK. Any suggestions? Sophie
