Further to Janet's reply, you may find some of one parish's records recorded on IGI but not all. I found an 1802 marriage there but not their following children's baptisms in the same church. Parish records reveal useful snippets eg. when bride and groom may have been widowed previously so use IGI as a useful guide but then delve further into parish registers. |

Lynsey If you do not find your ancestors on IGI then do not assume that they do not exist! If they are not on the IGI, then this usually means that the relevant church or churches refused permission for the Church of the Latter Day Saints(IGI basis) to access the parish registers and many bishops did refuse permission. Many of my ancestors are not on the IGI. Janet |

excellent resouce, BUT always check the information you find where possible as sometimes it's not 100% accurate. but its an invaluable resource all the same |
