Death Certificates for War Dead

I've got 3 death certificates for 1st WW - 2 army and 1 navy. Another great-uncle is proving very difficult to discover! CWGC site and index at FRC will help. As Mandy says, 1837online has got the index there too now.

I don't know about actual death certificates (I'm sure somebody will though) but they now have indices for forces bmd abroad on 1837online. If they have an index, I would imagine a certificate would be issued, but don't know for sure. Hope this helps a bit. Mandy :)

Hi Could some kind intelligent person please tell me if death certificates are issued for soldiers who were killed in action.
