trouble with outlook express

Hi, I am having problems with Outlook Express. I can stay on Internet Explorer for hours with only the occasional need to redial up. But, on Outlook Express am having to dial up every few minutes and occaisionally it freezes up and my only recourse is to shut down my PC and start again. I did recently pick up a virus (TROJAN) which is thankfully now dealt with. Any ideas please. Roy (David)

David I can't help with your problem, but I have broadband and I find Outlook Express often freezes and I have to do a soft boot to get going again. It's usually when I ask it to delete all the spam I get. Wish I had a solution. I don't want the spam, I don't want Outlook Express to freeze, and most of all when that bl**dy annoying message comes up saying "Do you want to tell Microsoft about this problem?" (which I've done umpteen times - no response) I want it instead to say "We don't care. Bill Gates is laughing all the way to the bank"! nell

Hi David On Outlook Express when the receiving mail box appears make sure you uncheck the disconnect box, if you check this box when you have finished receiving emails it will automatically disconnect from the internet. Sorry can.t help with the problem of your computer freezing, I often get this problem, I just put it down to a tempermental computer, have you tried running your computer maintenance programmes, scan disc etc. Hope you soon sort your problem out.
