I reacently obtained a death cert. for my aunt in south Australia by e-mail . 1st requesting it then paying for it. It arrived by snail mail 4 weeks later. Margaret

Allen The best site is the National Archives in Canberra, they keep all records there. their site is www.naa.gov.au If he was born in England you would have to find his birth cert. in the English birth registry With the other sites mentioned you should do OK. Mary in Sydney

If you are looking for deaths in Australia, check the Ryerson Index on www(.)rootsweb(.)com/~nswsdps/dpsindex(.)htm This gives Contemporary Death Notices and Obituaries in Australian Newspapers from 1974. Sue

Was he born here? If you know his dob then you should be able to get a copy of his birth certificate from the GRO. If he was born in Australia then you'll have to get in touch with the State Registry office I presume.
