Thanks for everyones help. I have downloaded the PAF. I shall try this for now to see how I get on with it.If it proves to difficault to work with then I will try something else and not lost anything (money wise, being a tight Scotsman). I have seen a couple of prgrammes inthe shops at about £50, I think one of them was the Family Tree one that Heather mentioned. Jenny, so far I have got back to the 1860's with the Brammer's and they allseem to be from Scotland. Thanks again for everyones help.

Hi you can get the free PAF download from familysearch.com but I personally found that difficult to use. I am now using FamilyTree - have just upgraded to 2005. Its available on ancestry.com website- about £30 including shipping. Its really easy to use and to add photos and info to and you can fiddle about and get some really good tree layouts to send to family! You can add photo backgrounds to your trees, choose colours, it really is worthwhile.

Here's another one to have a look at Thomas... http://www.tribalpages(.)com/ remove the brackets (sorry GR won't reproduce URLs properly unless we bracket the d o t s) Tribal Pages is a free site...simple to use and you can add loads of photos too. Great for sharing with family or friends who are on the internet. Dee x

Thomas Once you get the program installed you should be able to just add your own name, then using the 'export tree' on this site you can transfer all your names over.

Can anyone help me. I am quite new to genealogy and don't have a family tree program on my computer. Does anyone know of any good progams wither they are free from the net or to buy?
