Is there any way of adding people who have died without putting on their living descendants, ie my husbands grandparents without having his parents on the site, basically they wont give me permission for themselves.

Put the parents in with Living as their names (and no birth details), then continue back with the deceased relatives. Carole

If I were you I'd put hubby on the tree then instead of his parents names put "with-held" in place of their names and then add grandparents. It's then obvious to all that they don't want to be bothered by anyone connected to them but as the grandparents are dead then I should think there's no harm in putting their details in.
