to Roy, Carol,Judy, Nicola and Barbara, Once again thanks for your help and suggestions.I finally downloaded an efficient virus cleaner, realised that what I thought was 'safe mode' wasn't, I hadn't readjusted my settings[duh!]so now after 4 days of utter frustration, everything's back to NORMAL. When my sister had a virus earlier this year, Colin (on another site) adviced this site for trojan removal: http://www.download(.)com/The-Cleaner-Professional/3000-2239-10279992.html?tag=lst-0-18 Hope this is of some help. Regards Barbara

It's now late here, past my bedtime-time difference is a pain, but thanks for whatever help you can give. Now I can't get out of SAFE Mode..........!!! Bobby....what are you using as an anti-virus and the name of the virus is, what? (Apologies for delay in getting back quickly to your answer as I am at work - and the time difference between us.....it may seem like ages!) I don't suggest you go into REGEDIT for several reasons, one being it won't remove the virus......it is, however, part of the solution for removing some of the more stubborn ones. Judy

Try this Click START the run. Type regedit then OK Open the dropdown menu HKEY Current User Open Network If there is anything in there, delete it by going to Edit then delete then confirm May be Persistent or Recent or both Did your virus scanner tell you where it was? If so, try and go to that location and delete it yourself.

Hi Bobby, You could try this, put House Call in your search. When this opens it will do a full virus check on your PC. This may take a little while to complete. You should then be able to identify the virus and if this site fails to clear it, put the virus name in your search and you will generally find a site with a cure. Good luck, Roy (David)
