The address that Jamie has posted will also give you medical records for any relatives in the armed forces provided you can supply a name and regiment and rough years of service (although not essential).

There are several books on tracing your military ancestors - you should be able to get one via your local library. nell

Hi there's another thread headed: Royal Artillery records which has some useful ideas on it. If you keep getting USA stuff, have you thought of starting from the .*co.*uk version instead of the .*com version of your chosen search engine? Christine

Evelyn Try doing a websearch on the regiments involved - usually there are several sites about most of the regiments. But you would need to know what battalions they served with to obtain specific information on whereabouts they might have served. All this asuming they were indeed in the army! WW2 service records are still held by the Ministry of Defence, and are only released to the surviving serviceman, or his next of kin if he is deceased. It costs (appx Pnds 25 if I remember correctly). WW1 - two thirds of the army service records were destroyed in the WW2 blitz, so there is a small chance your relatives' records may have survived. These are held at the National Archives, and in your case will need a professional researcher to look them out. Ian
