You can subscribe to Ancestry and that has the 1871 and 1891 census (although the 1871 is not complete yet) If you can't afford that if you ask on the Records Office board someone will do a look up for you as long as you give as much detail as you can. Good luck Kath

Becky The 1881 census is free online at www.familysearch.org but it is only the transcription - you cannot see the original images to check. Some parts of some censuses are available online and you can find them by googling. Gordon Beavington has done a lot on parts of Warwickshire & Gloucestershire - type in the place name, census and the year you want. Otherwise all censuses are available free to search on microfilm at the Family Record Centre in London - it may be worth planning a daytrip there. Local record offices also have the parts relevant to their area. Some family history societies have indexes for their region. Regarding certificates, all births, marriages & deaths are indexed in books at the Family Record Centre. Local register offices also have the ones which took place in their area. A lot are indexed and free to search on FreeBMD. 1837online is more complete than FreeBMD but it charges you to look. You may also find it helpful to look at the Genealogy Resources section on this website which you can find by going to your homepage and scrolling down. nell

Family History Online has a number of census records, from 1841, though the coverage differs from county to county. You can view some stuff free, the rest is a few pence per entry. https://www.familyhistoryonline(.)net is the address. Carole
