I'm looking for Whiffens/Wiffins etc. I've read that the name comes from 'white fen' which is an area of Cambridgeshire but I've only got my lot as far as Deptford, a marriage in 1802. Helen

Desperate for Charles Bateman 1866-68 Nicolas St. (parents William & Frances). I have a Charles Booth note book covering Deptford which gives a brief description of the class of the streets (i.e Evelyn St - very mixed, shops and private houses on south west side, foreman skilled men and labourers PINK classification which means comfortable, good ordinary earnings). Other streets are very poor. Let me know if you what me to try to look up a Deptford Street, it will only give a brief description of the class. If you are not sure what Booth notenooks are see my thread on tips board, Selena

I am looking for JOSEPH HENRY HARRIS, 349 Evelyn Street, Deptford SE8 (possibly Czar Street?) He worked as a cleaner in the Peek Frean biscuit factory. I know he had one son named Henry Joseph Harris b.1911, I think he had several children.
