It would be worth keeping an eye on this site: http://www.*lancashirebmd.*org.*uk to see when it's updated and what's new. Currently, in marriages, it includes: Broughton, St John 1837 Preston & South Ribble 211 1837-1850 Broughton, St. John 1841 Salford C41 1841-1906 Broughton, St. Thomas 1881 Salford C39 1881-1906 Higher Broughton, St. James 1879 Salford C46 1879-1906 Broughton Park URC 1900 Salford A24 1900-1906 Broughton, North Manchester New Church 1905 Salford A31 1905-1906 Broughton, Salem, Wellington St East 1901 Salford A6 1901-1906 Higher Broughton Chapel 1899 Salford A22 1899-1906 Higher Broughton, Presbyterian 1899 Salford A35 1899-1906 Lower Broughton Wesleyan 1899 Salford A23 1899-1906 but, although there are TRUSCOTT weddings, I couldn't spot an Annie nor a BELLIS - or not yet. The site is one of a number of similar ones all findable (along with lots of other useful links, very well organised) on: http://www.*ukbmd.*org.*uk/ good luck Christine

i am not sure where she was born , all i know was her 2 marriages i am aware of took place in the broughton area of salford and this is where she brought up her family. i do have a couple of addresses 37 walter street is one from 1922 and 62 charlotte street in 1912 but on 1901 charlotte street is unocupied. so i really dont know where she is from although most truscotts seem to be from devon or london area. thank you all though youve been very useful, you never know i could have missed a step going round in circles

You do not have to pay to search the GRO index of birth, marriage and deaths. Large libraries, archives and LDS centres have them on microfiche to search for free. Even if you have to travel it could be cost effective if you have a long search. It is tedious and eye straining but you might find what you want. At least you seem to know the names so you can cross check the marriages. Anne

If you manage to get anything more definitive about the family, you should be aware (as I've read on another thread) that there is at least one sheet of 1901 census data that didn't get transcribed at all - which suggests there could be more than one. An image of the sheet was obtained (with apologies of some kind) from the ONS, or whatever. It was found because someone had access to teh images and found the data - but obviously you need to be starting from a position of some certainty about where the family was. Did the father have any kind of employer-status which would lead to him showing up in a trade or post office directory? If so you could look at the fantastic Leicester Uni site with searchable historical directories. That could give you a place. Christine

What other information do you have for her? Do you know where she was born?

there is a 7 year old Ann on the 1891 census, but her father is William. The only way you can find her marriage is on 1837 Online, by searching every quarter back from when you know it was before, which could work out very costly, or looking on FreeBMD. Even if they haven't transcribed them yet, they may have the pages available to view - I'm not sure which years are available.

thanks, i have checked those names out but their fathers name was different so i dont think these were her. Also i think the agnes was too young to be her. Thanks though i will double check

I searched for Edward Truscott on the 1891 census. I have found one, aged 47, whose family includes a daughter called Agnes, aged 5. Could this be her? I have found the same family on the 1901 census too, though Edward has gained a couple of extra years - he is 60. This family are in St Mewan, Cornwall. Carole

You say you can't find her on the 1901 census - presumably you have some more info (or I haven't read your post properly!) to eliminate her from these: Annie Truscott 15 Cornwall St Columb Cornwall St Dennis Ann Truscott 17 Cornwall St Austell Cornwall St Austell Urban Milliners Assistant Annie Truscott 17 St Pancras London London St Pancras Upholsterer ... Annie Truscott 18 London Paddn London Paddington Shirt Mack Annie Truscott 19 Derby Derbyshire Derby Derby Printers Machinist Annie Truscott 19 Devonport Devon Devonport Devonport The seventeen-yr-olds would be the most likely from the DoB you gave. hi can any1 out there please help me. i am looking for my great grandmother annie truscott. i know she married an edward bellis (dont know when but before 1912) and also married a george crankshaw in 1925. she was born in 1883/4 but i dont know where. according to my grandfathers birth certificate she was formally a truscott and her marriage certificate to george crankshaw states her father was edward truscott, so i presume this is her maiden name. I cannot find her on the 1891 cencus or the 1901 census and cannot find a link to edward either as i have so far been unable to find her birth date. has any1 got any ideas on how i can find out if she married before the 1901 census or how i can find her or her father or even her marriage certificate to edward as so far i have drew blanksand think she married edward under a different name.I AM GOING MENTAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TIA
