different service provider different speed?

Thanks for your replies, Can't get Broadband here. I don't think the modem should be a problem as the computer is only new.

Barbara, like the previous replies said, broadband is much quicker than dial-up and a speedier modem also makes a difference. I don't think the actual ISP makes any difference though. I'm on BT Broadband and have no problems (well only with the speed of GR and that's unique lol!). Mandy :)

I am on dial up with NTL, as we cannot get Broadband here, but I upgraded my modem recently and the speed has vastly improved. Kim

Could any one tell me if who your dial up connection is with does it affect your speed at accessing the web pages? I am with Virgin and I tried my friends fathers computer the other day and found it to be quite fast compared to mine. My computer is more up to date than his but found his to be better. If so I was wondering if I should try some one else. Anyone Know? Regards Barbara.
