Hi, if I know that my grandfather served in the royal engineers during WW2 how can I find out where he was stationed and what he did? I have no experience at all in searching military records etc.... Kx |

Hi Karen, back in 1998, I was able to get my fathers WW2 records from the following: Ministry of Defence, Bourne Avenue, Hayes, Middlesex, UB3 1RF. Telephone 0208 573 3831. I had to get my mum to give written permission as she was next of kin and also paid about fifteen pounds I think. I was also able to provide his army number as we had his dog tag. Hope this help, I am sure other members will be able to give you more info. Selena |
