Just did a search on Ancestry, got a list of records with GRO references, but are they Births, Marriages or Deaths.

Hi Carol, I hadn't used Ancestry for a few weeks due to being on holiday and when I looked here on GR, people were talking about this. I've now done some searching on there myself and it appears that when you do a BMD search, a whole list of the lot comes up - without saying which they are. You have to click on each one to find out! It's a real pain having to view all of them in turn when you might only want the marriages etc. I haven't contacted Ancestry about it yet but I intend to! Mandy :)

It's (almost) a copy of what FreeBMD have. It has all three, roughly the same coverage as shown on FreeBMD's progress graphs, but Ancestry is not as up-to-date as FreeBMD.

Mandy - I've just been doing that, and, yes it is tedious! I've also discovered that it's not complete!
