You could try www(.)gendocs(.)demon(.)co(.)uk/churches This lists Victorian churches by denomination and location, also gives dates so that you can see when the church was built, destroyed, rebuilt etc. Very easy to use. I have found this site very helpful. Kathleen

Hi Elaine What's the Hugh Wallis site? I know people use it for IGI batch numbers but I've never really looked at it. Have just downloaded the site Emma recommended and it looks like a big help too:) David PS I'm in Wargrave - not far from you

Emma Thanks very much - think that's what I might need:) Jan I have my doubts - just hoping they are cos it doesn't seem like any of the children from 2 generations were registered either (certainly not in the surname I know them under!). Thanks to both of you:)

David, You could try downloading the parish locator program. I've found this very useful. You can't put an address in, however, if you know the church they should have been christened in you can then find all others in a specified radius. The program is available at: www.parloc.pwp.blueyonder(.)co(.)uk Emma x

I have an address in London where ancestors were in 1841/51 but the children aren't christened at the more obvious local churches. Does anyone know of a site where I could either search for eg a mile radius of an address for churches of the period of any denomination or of a Victorian map site that names churches that I can search. I have several sites addys but none of them cover or name RC or independants etc. Thanks:)
