I got the Cannon i250 for £40 and it is cracking little printer, and cheap to run. If your into digital photography and want to pay a bit more the Epson R200/300s are the best. Bob

I've just got a computer for a new starter and was advised to get an Epson printer in the C40 series. This is an old model but have been told by several people that it is very reliable and cheap to run. (probably have to buy secondhand). Some replacement set of cartridges for other makes of printer cost as much as purchasing a new printer. Believe Canon make is reasonable too.

Google "choice stationery" for cheap ink and special offers for bulk buys, my printer cartridges cost £17 for colour and £12 for black, but on this site I got 4 cartridges for £20. Kim

I've got an Epson Stylus C44UX connected to my laptop which has been brilliant so far. Have Epson Stylus 460 connected to main pc and that is fine as well. I've had problems with other brands of printers at work, especially Hewlett Packard. It depends what you feel comfortable with. Viv

Have got an Epson cx3200 and have had no problems and its only a year old now. It takes the Epson c64 cartridges (t40 black t41 colour) I have got replacements from a firm called KC Inks and i find these excellent and cheap!! Also last longer than the originals

I didn't have that model but another Epson. Not at all happy with it. Steer clear of any that have chipped cartridges. They only last five minutes and cost a lot to keep replacing. I really believe it was somehow programmed to stop working when there was a load of ink still left. When I put new ones in and did the allignment test there was already a quarter of the ink gone. Total nightmare. Diane

and if so what is it like, I am thinking of one as my printer has died on me. Lynn.
