Cumbria Records Can anyone help

Can anyone help me I am trying to find which Parish Maryport was in. It is now Cumbria, but I cannot find records for Cumbria. Can anyone help or advise where to look. Thanks Angie

Hi Angela, Cumbria records do come under Cumberland a good site to try is WWW. Cumberlandroots(.)co(.)uk remove brackets. It might not give records for Maryport but does include areas around like Flimby, Dearham, Silloth and Allonby. The Dearham Bishops transcribes give all sorts of little villages around the area of Maryport with records going back to the 1600's. Good luck with your research. Barbara.
