Joanne Since you don't know where the trial was held you may need to order several documents as I believe they are arranged by assizes. Have you read through this leaflet, which might help? www.catalogue.nationalarchives.gov.uk/RdLeaflet.asp?sLeafletID=154 I think you may need to do a lot of searching through documents before you find what you want. Hi All You all seem a really nice lot so here's hoping you can help a new recruit! - Please?? My Grandfather was convicted of bigamy around 1940 (ish) and I really don't know how to pursue this. His legal wife lived in Bristol - the place of their marriage - but at the time of trial he lived in Leeds. I would love to find details of his trial but can't understand the entries in the online cat @PRO. It doesn't seem to offer me enough information to find his case so I can't request it for the reading room! Where do I go from here? Here's hoping :)) |
