Kirsteen, Thanks for the offer - if you could find the name of the company that would be great ! Deborah, I managed to find out quite a bit about the railwayline today but not so much on it's history ( although I found more today ! ) Mary Thanks for those websites they are brillient full of information - even found some photos similar to ones I have ! Thank you all for your time. I suppose what I was hoping was that the company who built the line maybe had some sort of archive files on the men who built it. That would give me more information on my G uncle. Next I must see if I can get a copy of his marrige cert. Just to let you know I had 166 photos in my parcel and I had a great time looking at them, they were really interesting and old !! Esta :)

Hi Esta.. You could try the sites below are the National Library and the National Archives both found in Canberra. www.nla.gov.au www.naa.gov.au You may have to email them and ask them for the info you want. The railway would have been a Commonwealth Project I think so they should have the records there. Mary in Sydney

I have today recieved a parcel stuffed full of photographs from australia about my great uncle. Included were pictures from about the 1930 when he was a ganger on the train lines in Nullaber/ Nullabor ( Not sure what it says ). As I understand this is the longest link between East / West Australia. .......Would there be somewhere in Australia that would hold records of any kind for this. ( ie - if you worked for the post office in the uk you can go to the Royal mail Archives to research people etc... ) .......Am I making Sense !!..........Is there anyone from Australia who can help !?!..........Esta :)
