Hi, I use Family Historian, and it's really good, if you go to their website, you can find out more and I think, download a trial version. Go to their website: www(.)family-historian(.)co(.)uk or try one of the following sites, some have reviews on them. www(.)sog(.)org(.)uk/cig/vol17/software(.)html www(.)my-history(.)co(.)uk Leanne

I agree with Geoff, start off with a free program and see how you get on. You'll spend plenty of money on this hobby as it is! I also use the free version of Legacy. I've tried a couple of others, but this is the one I like best. Carole

I use, and would heartily recommend, Legacy v5. It's at www_legacyfamilytree_com (Why does genesreunited censor web addresses?) The De-Luxe version (downloadable) costs $19.95, while the standard version is FREE! Masses of functionality, reports etc. Support is excellent. I'd STRONGLY suggest that you try out this software before splashing out any of your hard-earned on something else. There's no catches, spyware or other nasties Let me know if I can help further. i have the family tree maker, not sure which version, but can highly recommend it........ you are able to view/print trees & reports with all different variations, and most importantly its simple enough for me to use ( i am blonde !!) it was given a good rating in a recent geneology magazine survey too Jane

looking to buy package for my family history and local WH Smith has Family History version 4 at £50. Any other member use this and if so would you recommend I buy this one. I need a package that is easy to use but do not want to have to update for quite a while. Please advise.
