I cant get to my local record office so I have been looking for over a year for my G G Grandfather nothing on BMD site nothing on1837 or Ancestry I have him on the Census but isnt the same. I ordered the Parish Records from my local Family Centre and I have his Baptism record and his marriage record. So don`t give up and if you cant find them on line Try ordering the Parish Records from your local Family Centre. He couldn`t have been registered at birth but his Marriage should be recorded. Mary

Hi Mary, I have had the same problem, can't find my grandfathers Birth details anywhere, I have all the census but like you say that is not the same. I have his Baptisim Cert paper which was sent to me also I have his marriage certificate also I have the details for his death so I could also get that, but I wish I could get his Birth Details, I will give you his name & details & perhaps you could have a try for me if you don't mind. Samuel Bromfield/Broomfield/Brumfield. b1863 Yarburgh South Somercotes, Lincolnshire. Parents George Trout Bromfield. Mother Mary Ann Kirk. Hope you did'nt mind me asking, Rita (Western Australia).

Rita, looked on LDS library cat. for lincolnshire only seems to be records for Methodist and Friends. Tried Ancestry and the only Samuel Bromfield was born 1848. From the Phillimore Atlas & Idex of parish registers it seems that south Somercotes lincolnshire would come under Louth. How old was Samuel on the census? Some children were baptised late so the best indication of age would be from census. Now I can look on St Catherines when I go to the records office next week. Other than that try putting a question on www(.)rootschat(.)co(.)uk remove brackets. Look under Lincolnshire Or get in touch with the Licolnshire Family History Society the address should be on the Family History site uk. Sorry thats all I can suggest. If you have the baptism record you have the Church name So maybe someone can look at the records it may have his date of birth there. My G,G.Grandfather was baptised two years after his birth. Mary

Kim. Go on Church of LDS site. Then click on library when that comes up click on Family History Centres. Type in Country and County where you live and that will tell you the nearest to you. You can then do a search in the Family History Catalog for the Place you want to search and print out any info you get so you can go to the nearest centre and order the film. Now if you have never been before they are briliant so helpful and they have Births deaths and Marriages ( not all are on line) and some censuses. Remember to order your film and if you just want to look around first remember to book a reader. Cheers Mary
