Hi , Many thanks to the people who took the time and trouble to offer help re deleting of rellies, (unlike GR staff ). It`s still proving impossible to do , as you can`t delete individuals with multiple relations or more than one child and PARENTS. Now I don`t know about you , but I`m beginning to think that they know something we don`t. Is this an intro to a new site called GenesCloned, as offhand I don`t know ANYBODY without parents, or multiple rellies somewhere along the line. Jay

I've only a small tree at present but i can understand if you've been doing this for sometime how it could be an impossible job. What about editing the people to unknown until you have the right names. Mel:-)

Hi Melissa, Thanks for that, but you are not allowed to delete anyone on your tree who has multiple relations, ( which means everyone, ) so you just go round in circles. It was possible to delete until they updated the website . Jay.

Hi,my name is June I have had the same problem,I put my grandma name on twice by misstake and it will not let me delete just one of them,it loks like I have two relaatives in the same family with the same names, also when I want to answer some of the tips on this board or the records office it keeps storring the messages I want help to some of my ancestors I have tried all avenues,it just goes round in circles since they keep changing the site I do not know when sometimes the message I have posted has been recieved. Why do they keep making things so complecated. June-Slavin-Cumming

Hi again, It`s proving a real nightmare trying to use this "new and improved " site. Try the Edit Relatives part and click on Click Here for Help and get.......... no response. Try the delete part and get .......... no response. Try e~mailing GR Help and get ..........no response. Warning: Do NOT make a mistake as GR do not have the solution !! Jay.

So, I'm not alone! I posted a thread a couple of days ago on exactly the same problem (titled I'm in a helluva muddle), because like you I've got my grandfather married to my mother, but she's also listed as his daughter. . . . now, one of them has GOT to go because it's driving me up the wall, but the site won't let me. I was advised, on my thread, to either, use the Unknown idea, but they ARE NOT unknown, it's just a mistake which I want to correct. If I was writing on a piece of paper, I would snopake it out, in other words, Delete it!! But, no, that's too simple, because there are relations and children involved!! One kind lady suggested I use another site, start again, and then import it all back on to here. Well, that is an answer, but a lot of hard work as everything from that mistake onwards is fine, so I don't REALLY want to have to do that. In fact, since then, a friend has kindly loaded another program for me to do just that, but the prospect is daunting!

Yes, June, I did all that too. No responses! As I said on the other thread, surely it's inevitable people will by error make a mistake, they should be allowed to correct it, WE know it's a mistake, so let us put it right!
