Can anyone help. I need advice on how to research Hannah Kemble, born 19/5/1827 in Rural Quebec. Married 6/3/1844 to James Wilson (b Ireland) at St Mungo's Presbyterian Church, Chatham, Ottawa. On 1901 census at Grenville, Ottawa. How do I find her parents? Her husband James Wilson, was born in Ireland in 1818, died 14/7/1895 aged 77. How to I further this line of research. Any advice gratefully received. Steve

Hi Steve: On the 1901 Canadian census, it shows a Hannah Wilson, living in Grenville, Quebec, born May 19, 1827. http://automatedgenealogy(.)com/census/NationalSummary.jsp remove ( ) before using It is difficult to read, but it looks like her nationality is "Scotch" and she belonged to the Church of England. Not much I know, but at least you have a place to start looking for her father. (My family/ancestors were Canadian -- the child is listed as Scotch if the father was born in Scotland). I've been busy with work and I'm supposed to be helping three other people, but if you want to email me your details I could try looking around in about a week, or once I've finished with the other lookups. I can't promise any results, but I will look if you don't mind a wait.
