Think it is now refered to as Stalybridge, Stockport, Cheshire

Kelly, Its listed on a couple of census in 1881 as being Stalybridge, Cheshire, Lancs. Which would make Stan correct. Pat x

Hi Kelly I think this must be Stalybridge. This town is east of Manchester, and nearly 40 miles from Liverpool, but the name and pronunciation are too much alike for it to be anywhere else. Regards Stan

i have just found out that my great great grandfather was bn in a place called stailey bridge nr liverpool never heard of it have you?????
