A couple of my lot were buried in a new part of a cemetary just before it was consecrated, he was a catholic who died naturally too. About a year later his baby son went into the same plot and it still was'nt consecrated. George

And I know they were a strict catholic family..... Who would do the burial? Would it just be some random grave digger???? Doesn't look like it was the priest. I'm like a dog with a bone now!

There is a multistorey carpark there now...... Do you think they may have found the body and moved it when the carpark was built? Or is he still there....? Oooh, feel a bit funny now, I have parked there in the past! Sarah

I cannot beleive that!!!! This could mean my ancestor was just buried in their back garden or the street or something!! I intend to investigate this one to the max!!! Thanks! Sarah

Could someone please explain what exactly an unconsecrated grave is? I know it means not sacred, but does it mean that it wasnt a religious burial? Who would have done the buriel if not a religious person? Or does it mean something like a paupers grave? If its unconsecrated, would there be a headstone? So many questions! Thanks lots (again!) Sarah
