Nichola's idea about Genuki is good - the Saddleworth directory lists several woollen cloth manufacturers at Hollingrove, so prob a township in the area.

Hi Thanks for your replys. The parish is listed as Charlestown, Halifax. And they were Married in St Thomas's a local church. The address Hollingrove though is a total mystery to me. I will keep searching though

Hi All I have recently recieved a marriage certificate for two people in my tree. The residence at the time of marriage simply states Hollingrove. The occupation of father states Gentleman. I recently posted and recieved a numer of replys on what would be considered a gentleman. I wonder if anyone nows of Hollingrove? Or knows how i would trace what and where this was? I would guess due to it not being a road address tat at the time it spoke for itself. Anyones thoughts and help will as always be much appreciated. Thanks Kelly xxx
