Hi If you know when he died & where he's buried... Is there a memorial inscription which mentions his age? (that will give you an idea of when he was born, and birth certificates give useful info about parents names etc) - even his family ("beloved husband of..., beloved father of...")? good hunting! Have you got your parents birth certificate. Work back from that. Look for their parents marriage. Start with your parents birth year and work back till you find a marriage. What year or area are you searching? Mary

Louise What do you want to find out? If you are just starting to trace your family tree, I suggest you write down all you know so far - about yourself, parents, grandparents etc. Then visit the homepage of this site and scroll down until you see Genealogy Resources - underneath that is a section called "Getting Started". Read it and it will help you. Please put any questions you then have on the board giving as much detail (names, places, dates etc) as possible and people will help. nell (who also only started with a vague idea about her relatives and now can go back 5 generations on both mothers and father's side!)
