Irene Please read/listen to advice as you can get carried away on E.bay Please make sure you are not paying more than the thing is worth, that's how sellers make it worth their while to go on ebay rather than sell direct to you and me. Please don't get carried away. Pat x

If the seller is in Cinderford, Glos, that is the address of Archive CD Books who make the things. They seem to put things on there (at the normal price) to try and increase sales.

Hi Irene, Please go careful when looking on ebay for census stuff. I use ebay for this myself and have got some useful disc at good prices but alot of disc ( mainly census box sets) go for way over the price of buyng brand new. Do what I do - have a look at websites to get an idea of what the prices are new then look on ebay and see what things go for. Then decide what you want and don't be tempted to keep going higher !! Also remember to check P&P prices as they vary a great deal and can add to the price. Common sense really - but it's easy to get carried away Best wishes Esta :)

Which census - year and place? Is it the whole country, or a county or just an index of names? To get an idea of retail prices, look for websites for S&N Genealogy Supplies, they do census CDs. Alternatively, lots of small ads in family history magazines. nell
