I sent for my granma's death certificate and it came back with informant as son-in-law, John Brampton. Because this side of the family was totally unknown, I looked on 1837 for a marriage between Brampton and Small, granma's married name, in the right period - bingo! I then wrote to families with that name in the area - to cut a long story short, I'm in contact with two cousins who have been able to tell me about granma and one has just sent photos and copies of letters written by granma to her mother, my aunt, and mentioning my father! Theresa You don't say how recently he was an informant. You could try the Trying to Find board. Alternatively, check your tree to see who his parents were likely to be. nell

I have have just found my grandmothers death certificate - Johnina Hannah nee Robertson Kilby and the signature on this certificate is listed as D.M. Edmonston - Grandson. Would like to hear from anyone who recognise this name as we appear to be cousins Thanks Theresa Nicholl - nee Hannah
