Trying to find board is a better bet for living relatives. You don't give his name or date of birth, so it is hard to advise on where to look. There is a government service called Traceline, which finds people through official records and passes on a message, but they charge. To find details put "traceline" into your search engine. nell

What do you know? His name, age, address last known at, relatives, job? If adopted you could go back and ask the agency for details on your file and you can register with the adoption agency as wanting contact or with NORCAP. If not have you asked any of your family for info - delicate situation at times. Lookup any electors roll- Rachel and another person on Records message board do look ups or you could try webstie b4usearch*com You could try web sites like lookupuk*com and missing-you*net as well as Channel 4's teletext page 151. Have you looked on friends reunited to see if he's registered on there or on here in someones tree? If you do find where he is be very tactful in case his family know nothing of you. It's best having a go between who can reassure him of your intentions. Traceline is not for adopted children and it costs money around £25 I think. They will do a search using medical records and if they find him will offer to send him your letter for another £25 or so. However they write and ask if he will accept a letter first and not just post it to him so if there's no reply then that's it. Good Luck
