STRANGE request to view tree.

Hi Since G/R have had their new face lift . Ive been having emails from G/R saying that there are people wishing to view my tree................. The people who have requested to view my tree are unknown to me. So ive emailed them asking what pearson or part of my tree they are interested in . 3 of them have replied to me informing me that they have not requested to see my tree................ Also we do not seem to have any surnames that are in common......... Today ive had another to wishing to view my tree. So do you think G/R are trying to match people up. Or is there something strange going on? Has anyone else had this? Thanks Sarah

when contacting, request to view tree button is automatically ticked. You have to untick it. Its down the page so people arn't noticing it. GR should make it more noticible to stop this as its becoming quite common.

I also thought that, however they have not sent any other emails to me. The only way it could happen is when they send the first email . They need to tick the box. But iam just getting the request to view the tree. Sarah

I had an email today thru GC from someone asking to see my tree but they are'nt in my contacts list? She has'nt answered my response yet.

I hade this before the board changed and contacted GR they are still looking into it but i see they have taken him off my contacts board .I am worried that someone is trying to get information from this site to build their own web site . Val

Val I did not think of that. Anything could be happening. However i think it is just a error , or their website playing up. Now ive had 2 more today iam not to sure if to reply to them. How can you be sure that someone really want to view your tree? Sarah

Hi all I've had 8 requests to view my tree from one person. I have emailed her and she doesn't want to view my tree and never requested permission. Bit of a glitch me thinks? Lynne

There's nothing sinister about it, people aren't trying to steal anyone's tree. I received a request to view my tree and emailed back asking which branch they were interested in. They were under the impression that it was I who had requested to view their tree. Needless to say, neither of us had any desire to view the other person's tree.
