Any idea *where* they were married ?? I tried freeBMD for marriages: Thomas Vallins, got nothing, then tried Elizabeth Burgess and got lots, up to sept 1910. If you know where, this will give you some Volume and page numbers, and then you could look on 1837online.

There are several sites which might prove useful. This one hasn't come up with the goods this afternoon, but offers a solution even if you don't get result: http://extranet2.kent.gov.uk/kccextranet/sp/rois/home.html I found it via UKBMD - which is a good source of links, generally. Amongst the links are also... FreeBMD only goes up to 1910 at the moment -and isn't complete yet, but there is a lot on it - it's also searchable (maybe not the most up to date version) via Ancestry-dot-com 1837Online is a pay-as-you-go site with the registration index-page images for the GRO. It's also worth putting combinations of names/dates/places into a search-engine - some quite surprising things turn up that way! good hunting! Christine

i have been trying to locate my ggrandfather & ggrandmothers marriage as i have drawn a complete blank with finding her on any of the census (it may have been she wasn't born as i have no idea really of her dob. How can i find details of marriages after 1900? my g/mother Jane Gertrude ada Vallins b 14/9/23 in Orpington her father is listed as Thomas Vallins (have found him on census) her mother is listed as Elizabeth Jane Vallins formerley Burgess. I know my great aunt was b in sept 1920 so i would have thought they would have been married between 1900 & 1920. if anyone has any ideas as to how to find this information i would really appreciate there knowledge. many thanks Liz i am unable to read your replies please can you either email me or try again as seperate message thanks
