Genealogy Chat

Yesterday I sent a lookup to someone ( Sarah -it's on the Records board), only did it by reply through my email. It took until this afternoon for GR to send it back to me to tell me I should have sent it through my messages on the site and it had gone to them! (could have said anything!!!!!) As I hadn't had any response from Sarah, I presumed she had received it and I deleted her message from my contact list. So poor Sarah thinks I haven't bothered to do her look up, and I thought she hadn't bothered to say thank you (sorry about that Sarah, wherever you are) So folks -let this be a warning. I'm going scatty over this long winded way of contacting people. If anyone asks for a lookup, please also give me your emaill address so I can reply directly. Jackie

Me too, I have had messages on my e-mail days after original contact and wondered "who is that?" and because I can't remember the contact have had to go all through the Contacts to work it out. Is it my imagination or has the site got really SLOW Rose

So, how does the email thing work now? We send and receive GC emails through GC? But what about if we have thei email address already? Sorry, it's a stupud question but I'm really confused. They've not explained it at all.
