Occupier?

I'd take it to mean the occupier of the address where she died - so if she was a live in domestic servant could well be her employer, but I suppose could also be someone who lived in same lodging house as her. Judith

Does anyone know what 'occupier' means when it is written under the name of the person who is registering a death? The person does not appear to be related to the dead person. Could they be her employer (I think she was a domestic servant). Thanks Lynne
