Thanks Sharon I agree, they keep putting new stuff on, trying to entice new members, but are leaving huge gaps in the existing info. Sam

Sharon Report 19 Aug 2004 14:22

Hi Sam I have complained 3 times over the last 8 months to ancestry about some images that are missing from the 1891 census. Well its more than a few actually! Its the entire village of Aldbourn in Wiltshire!! The people in the village are listed in the index but all the pages are listed as missing. The first two times they just fobbed me off with " we are looking into the problem and will try to fix it as soon as possible" and on the third attempt i threatened to cancel my membership and got a more personal reply from them and they also gave me 3 months free subscription as i had waited so long. My 3 months 3 subscription is up next week and they still have not put the pages on the website. So therefore i wouldnt hold your breath waiting for them to fix it, but is worth complaining to them about it. I think they are more interested in putting as much new stuff on there as they can rather than fixing any problems with whats already on there! Regards Sharon

Did you get more than the automated reply? Just wondered as there is an image I cannot access, should I hold out any hope of them doing anything about it? Thanks Sam
