Hi You could try the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) 23, Portland Place, London W1B 1PZ TEL 020 7333 9333. Obviously all nurses have to be registered with a central professional body but I'm not sure if they would keep records that far back. Worth a try, good luck! Christine |

Is there a list/directory of registered nurses and midwives going back to the 1920s? Am trying to find out about my hubby's ggrandmother who, it is said, was a nurse all her life. She died in 1951. Many thanks, Jackie |
