Hi Aileen, the way I've got round this is to put an approximate year of birth (there's a box you can tick, then it shows a 'c' for circa beside the year) and being vague about place of birth - just putting England for example. Then it can be edited when you find more details. Mandy :)

I think it is when people add their details with gedcom, someone will correct me if I am wrong though. Sue

Ringrose from Countesthorpe Lord and Burley from Countesthorpe...Dixon Dawson Wood and Wilkinson from Caistor ,Starkey and Wood from Edendam. Hare from Horncastle.

I'm a bit baffled as to how members manage to add names to their trees without actually having the date and place of birth available! I wanted to add my ancestor to my tree but it wouldn't let me as I didn't have this info....I know it states that these details are mandatory but I have seen other entries with (No date or place of birth available) next to the name...I actually tried typing in these words to no avail!...Someone put me out of my misery please!!...Aileen
