Hi Georgeous, Go to the opening page of the LDS site, Click on "Order/Download Products" on the "Welcome" bar. On the next page click on "Software Downloads Free". On the next page Click the "Download" next to PAF 5.2.18.0 It should be at the top of the list. Let me know how you get on. Good luck Jim

as well as having my tree on here I have it on tribalpages legacy and genopro which means when I add people to my tree it takes 4 times longer, I find them very easy to use with the exception of genopro which I cant figure out and have over 200 photos on tribalpages trying to put faces to names to get my family interested but it hasn't worked so far. jenny

Thank you all for the info but I still do not know how to find PAF5 when on the LDS site. Georgina

I also use the LDS PAF5, duplicated (not uploaded) on here. PAF is quite user friendly, can print descendents, family groups etc. and can be searched on a name index so it's simple to select a person then switch to tree view to see where they fit in. Paper files of supporting documentation and potential relatives, at present one for my side, one for 'er indoors, indexed by surname. Computer files have details of sources, GRO indexes etc.

I just use genes reunited and paper files. I currently have 2 folders one each for fathers and mothers side but will need to expand shortly. In the front of the folder I have a fan family tree which I fill in with the names and I highlight them when I have confirmation from the GRO. I pencil in possibles and ink in with IGI's./GRO's. It shows instantly the relationship of each generation. Next is a page giving all the names grouping married couples together by generation with their, date of birth, place of birth, whether confirmed IGI/GRO, date of marriage, place of marriage confirmed IGI/GRO, date of death, place of death, confirmed IGI/GRO. Working page so gets a bit messy!!! Then I have a numbered card index page where I write the names of each couple beside the index number. Behind each index number I have put a family information sheet which gives the couples names, date and place of births, marriage and deaths, their parents names and the names and dates of births of all the children of the marriage and who they marry and where. Finally all the certificates, information of births, deaths, marriages and census returns for the couple. I know its a bit long winded but its easily accessible especially when the computer is occupied and won't get wiped out accidently.

Hi Georgeous, If you go to Home Page, Scroll Down and click on "Useful Links" the LDS Site is top of the list. You can download PAF for free. I use PAF5. I not only have a Tree with over 2000 of mine, but it also copes very happily with a tree including linked by marriage of over 15000

i use Family tree Maker, and after i've found a few weeks worth of new info i'll export the tree out as a GEDCOm file and upload it onto here (deleting the previous one first). that way i don't have to record the same info twice, and i know that everything's up to date

I use the LDS PAF5 - I find it really easy to use and easy to find the various sections of my tree. It also allows you to print smaller parts of your tree eg individual family lines without having to go through the whole lot.

I would be interested in hearing how other people store their family tree. Mine is on Genopro with hyperlinks to other trees when I have a new line. However, I now have so many trees I lose track of which part belongs to where if you know what I mean. Any ideas would be welcome. Georgina
